AIMS & OBJECTIVES: It has been felt for some time that there is a need for an effective organisation in Nottingham, to represent and promote exclusively the interests and cultural values of those who are of Pakistani origin or have affinity with such interests and values, and who believe in the integrity, ideology and well-being of Pakistan, the founding members as defined here under have resolved to form this organisation. The forums aims- To promote advancement of education, furtherance of health and relief of poverty, distress and sickness
- To promote understanding and good relations between and various sections of the local community
- To promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the Muslim community, nationals of Pakistan and Kashmir
- To offer safe and secure premises to the community for social, educational and employment activities
- To tackle social and economic problems concerning the community in particular the most disadvantaged groups i.e.: - the women, youth and elderly
- To deliver appropriate and quality day care provisions for Muslim elders
- The forum shall be a non-political organisation.
- It shall not associate with any political group or organisation, except when it is raising or campaigning for an issue in pursuit or furtherance of any of its objects.
- It will hold social, cultural and other events to promote or bring about cohesion and cooperation amongst the members and their families, and thus strengthen their communal bonds
- It will endeavour to eliminate disadvantage, if any, suffered by the members’ community in the areas of education, health, employment, commerce and sports
- It will try to promote general welfare of the members’ community and to help relieve poverty, distress and ignorance
- It will hold seminars, lectures, conference and exhibitions to inform and educate the community in general
- It may procure suitable premises for the adequate discharge of its functions and duties.
- It will co-operate and join hands with other organisations carrying out similar activities
- It will promote mutual understanding and develop good relations with the other sections of the community and their organisations
- It will try to raise awareness amongst the youth of the community of their historical, social, and cultural heritage; and to cultivate pride amongst them of their roots, history and ancestral achievements
- It shall procure and raise funds for the purpose of achieving its objects
- It will attempt to raise awareness of the issues concerning women and their families and to find ways and means of tackling problems confronting them
- It may procure and provide information, general advice, and assistance
- The forum shall not be a profit – making organisation.
